Emerson is looking for a certified Machinist in Brantford, Ontario, to operate various machines like lathes and mills, perform CNC programming, and contribute to in-house manufacturing improvements. This role requires a Red Seal and Journeyman ticket or Certificate of Qualification, strong safety awareness, and the ability to read technical prints.

Ansvarsområden

  • Operate 5 station turret lathe and custom thread rolling machine to manufacture tie rods.
  • Set up thread rolling heads to ensure quality parts meet specifications.
  • Operate automatic tapping head to thread profile tubing.
  • Operate Hass Mill to machine cylinder head and cap ports, cushions, and custom operations.
  • Operate manual vertical mills to machine ports, cushions, and wrench flats.
  • Operate HAAS ST10 and ST20Y lathe to machine piston rods and tie rods.
  • Operate Aluminum Chop saw with digital read out to cut aluminum tube extrusions.
  • Operate metal band saws to cut various sizes of ferrous and nonferrous metal rods.
  • Program manually without the use of any CAM software.
  • Operate and program Automated Hydmech Cold saw.
  • Perform precision tube facing and measure parts using analog and digital gauges.
  • Address general maintenance concerns and notify when required (coolant, fluid levels, tooling supplies).
  • Perform buffing, grinding, and deburring as required.
  • Organize material handling and raw material storage.
  • Perform other related duties as required, including physical and demanding tasks.

Krav

  • Certified machinist with General Machinist Certification and Computer Numerical Control Certification (CNC).
  • Must have a Red Seal and Journeyman ticket OR Certificate of Qualification (COQ).
  • Able to program on CNC.
  • Able to change blades, tooling inserts, and tooling setup with program adjustments.
  • Able to read and interpret both metric and imperial prints.
  • Able to pull up saved machine programs, implement, manipulate, and copy them for new designs.
  • Keep workplace clean and equipment presentable.
  • Able to identify areas for improvement and have a positive attitude to solving issues.
  • Able to get along with other workers and be flexible.
  • Good listening and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to read and follow procedures.
  • Able to always adhere to safety procedures and machine guards.
  • Strong understanding and practice of company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in Canada without need for sponsorship now or in the future.
