I korthet

Qualcomm is seeking a Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer to advance AI-accelerated computer vision on edge devices. This role involves researching, designing, and implementing algorithms, optimizing deep learning models for resource-constrained platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions for mobile, automotive, IoT, and robotics customers.

Ansvarsområden

  • Research, design, and implement video processing and computer vision algorithms (e.g., depth estimation, optical flow, 3D reconstruction, SLAM).
  • Develop optimized deep learning model architectures and training strategies, incorporating advances like transformers and world models.
  • Profile and optimize algorithm/model performance considering memory, compute, power, and bandwidth constraints.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop supervised and non-reference quality metrics for model performance assessment.
  • Own the training and development of new release models for key customer segments.
  • Write technical documentation, design specifications, and feature descriptions.
  • Contribute effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and globally distributed team environment.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of relevant work experience.
  • PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong coding skills in Python (C/C++ is a plus) for production-quality development, optimization, and on-device deployment.
  • Experience using ML/CV frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, and OpenCV.
  • Experience deploying AI algorithms on the edge (ExecuTorch, Jetpack, QNN, etc.).

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing computer vision and video algorithms within system-level products.
  • Hands-on experience with modern deep learning architectures.
  • Comfortable using the latest AI coding assistants and productivity tools (Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT).
  • Strong ability to work across algorithm, software, and hardware boundaries.
  • Understanding of tradeoffs and resource limitations (power, memory bandwidth) for edge AI deployment.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Publication, patent, or external technical contribution experience is a plus.
