The International Trade Compliance Manager will oversee and lead Appleton's global trade compliance program, with a specific focus on the Americas. This role involves developing and implementing strategic initiatives, managing trade compliance professionals, and providing expert guidance on import and export laws and regulations.
Ansvarsområden
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives for Appleton trade compliance.
- Provide training support and ensure functional areas are up-to-date with requirements.
- Perform trade data oversight in ACE, PMS, and assist with customs broker inquiries.
- Facilitate import and export activities, conduct site visits and audits.
- Oversee special export and import compliance programs (e.g., Embargoes, Sanctions, USMCA, HTS Classifications).
- Assist with supply chain security compliance programs (e.g., CTPAT, AEO-Mexico, PIP).
- Oversee customer requests for product eligibility (e.g., BABA, Made in America, ARRA, TAA).
- Participate in Emerson functional teams like brokerage mode team and tariff task force.
- Provide expert advice on trade compliance, review procedures, and generate reports.
- Deliver strategic trade data and financial analytics to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance systems, modules, and data repositories are monitored and updated.
- Leverage resources and best practices across global locations.
- Respond to escalations and collaborate on resolving trade compliance issues.
- Manage and coach trade compliance analysts.
Krav
- 8+ years of direct work experience in multi-national International Trade Compliance.
- 5+ years of direct experience supervising and leading teams, projects, and programs.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Legal, Business, Finance, or related field.
- Ability to navigate and interpret U.S., Canada, and Mexico import and export laws and regulations.
- Experience working in the region and with local customs authorities.
- Excellent oral and written English language skills.
- Ability to travel 25% or more.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Other advanced degrees are an advantage.
- Willingness to learn U.S., Canada, and Mexico import and export laws and regulations if not already experienced.
- Other languages are an advantage.
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially in data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, reliability, and good attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with senior management across multiple departments and global locations.
