I korthet

As an ID-LB Cabling Infrastructure Tech with AWS Infrastructure Services in Mumbai, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and managing copper and fiber optic cabling within a data center. The role requires adherence to safety standards, managing inventory, and basic network device troubleshooting.

Ansvarsområden

  • Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
  • Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
  • Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
  • Understanding of test equipment (power meter / light source, OTDR, VFL, Fluke, network analyser, copper / fiber cabling test equipment).
  • Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
  • Managing inventory of related materials.
  • Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
  • Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
  • Experience with a ticketing system.
  • Ability to travel within geographical work area.
  • Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors.

Krav

  • Diploma/Graduation in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-2 years of project management experience or operations planning experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with network cabling (fiber optic & copper).
  • English language communication ability.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying excellent time management skills and the ability to follow direction.
  • Able to work at heights or use ladders for continued periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.
  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Substantial background in large scale datacentre network implementations and support.
  • Knowledge of Copper and Fiber Optic testing methodologies.
  • Ability to read basic layout drawings and floorplans.
  • Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management).
  • Knowledge of server hardware and components.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
