Emerson is hiring a 1st shift Melt/Molding Supervisor for their Appleton Foundry in South Milwaukee, WI. This role involves overseeing operations, personnel, safety, and costs to ensure the on-time shipment of quality castings, including managing equipment repair, refractory materials, and production goals.
Ansvarsområden
- Direct, train, and maintain the repair of furnaces, ladles, and pouring spouts using refractory to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Manage a team of skilled technicians, coordinating installation and maintenance of refractory materials in Melt Shop applications.
- Maintain production to achieve company goals within acceptable scrap levels.
- Maintain and enforce the safety program for the production department.
- Be accountable for the melt department, relating to departmental costs, quality, equipment efficiency, and quantity of production.
- Spend the majority of time working in the department during production to provide direction and control.
- Assist management in general foundry problems, including quality and capital expenditures.
- Ensure and audit 5S+1 policies in the department.
- Provide leadership and administer company rules, regulations, and union rules.
- Direct, co-ordinate, train and supervise all Melt Department operations across all shifts.
Krav
- Minimum of two (2) years of foundry supervisory experience or four (4) years of foundry experience.
- A high school diploma is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work weekends to support production.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Foundry supervision experience is preferred.
- Induction melting is preferred.
- Coreless induction furnaces, DISA Vertical molding, and Isocure core making.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a foundry preferred.
- Some college and/or additional training/Metallurgy preferred.
