ABB seeks a Flow Simulation & Cost Engineer in Skien, Norway, to model production flows, estimate costs, and optimize manufacturing processes using tools like FlexSim, MTM, and REFA. This role is crucial for guiding industrial and business decisions through accurate simulations and cost analyses.

Ansvarsområden

  • Perform time studies using MTM and/or REFA methodologies.
  • Optimize factory and line layouts to improve throughput and material flow.
  • Develop and run production flow simulations using FlexSim.
  • Perform scenario analyses to evaluate alternative processes, layout, and capacity concepts.
  • Conduct capacity modeling for current and future volume scenarios.
  • Analyze production cost drivers and perform cost analysis across different scenarios.
  • Deliver early-stage cost estimations to support product and industrialization decisions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Process Technology Department, Product Development Engineers, and Controlling.

Krav

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field (relevant experience can compensate).
  • Documented experience with discrete event simulation, preferably FlexSim.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing systems, production flows, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with cost analysis and cost estimation.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience with MTM and/or REFA time measurement methods.
