Emerson is looking for a Firmware Engineer Co-Op to contribute to firmware build automation, toolchains, and embedded firmware development for actuator platforms. This role requires current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in a relevant engineering discipline and familiarity with C/C++.

Ansvarsområden

  • Develop and enhance firmware build automation and toolchains.
  • Create CI workflows and automated testing solutions.
  • Integrate code quality, security, and static analysis tools.
  • Improve source control, code review, and release processes.
  • Document and standardize development workflows.
  • Develop firmware for next-generation actuator platforms.
  • Assist with BSP, driver, and application software development.
  • Debug firmware and support hardware bring-up activities.
  • Participate in product validation and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Krav

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.
  • Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and problem-solving.
  • Experience or coursework in embedded systems development.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming.
  • Exposure to software development processes, version control, and debugging tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and data sheets.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with personal, academic, or team-based embedded software projects.
  • Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with static analysis and unit testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices.
