Emerson is looking for an EHS Engineer/Senior Engineer in Chennai, India, to direct environmental, occupational health, and safety functions supporting manufacturing and service operations. The role involves conducting safety audits, leading incident investigations, implementing sustainability initiatives, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ansvarsområden

  • Conduct daily factory walkthroughs to identify and address unsafe conditions and acts.
  • Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, performing root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with EHS teams on sustainability initiatives (zero emissions, energy conservation, waste reduction).
  • Identify, propose, and implement EHS improvement projects for employee safety and health.
  • Plan and coordinate EHS awareness programs and events.
  • Collaborate with regional and global EHS teams to share best practices and deploy corrective actions.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with environmental, health, safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Implement and sustain Emerson EHS policies and procedures.
  • Prepare EHS metrics, reports, and presentations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve EHS objectives.
  • Conduct machine safety audits, pressure system assessments, and maintain EHS records.
  • Lead HIRA, JSA, and Environmental Aspect & Impact Assessment activities.
  • Manage contractor EHS activities, including onboarding, induction, and work permit compliance.
  • Plan and conduct emergency mock drills and maintain emergency preparedness.

Krav

  • Minimum 5 to maximum 8 years of working experience in an EHS role.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • National certified safety engineer ISO14001 or OSHAS18001 internal auditor is preferred.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Safety management, Environmental Science, Health or equivalent.
