As an Embedded Software Test Engineer with Emerson's global Systems and Software organization, you will be part of a collaborative Agile Scrum team focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of software solutions. Your responsibilities include participating in Agile activities, validating software features, designing and executing test cases, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.

Ansvarsområden

Participate in Agile development activities like sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and program planning.
Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria with software developers, architects, product owners, program managers, and testing teams.
Validate software features, enhancements, defect fixes, builds, and release candidates.
Design, develop, and execute manual test cases (functional, integration, regression, exploratory, compatibility, security).
Investigate, document, and verify software issues, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
Develop and execute security-focused test scenarios.
Configure, maintain, and support validation environments (hardware, networking, lab infrastructure, customer-like deployments).
Leverage modern testing technologies and AI-enabled tools.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for software quality and testing effectiveness.
Support a culture of collaboration, innovation, integrity, and inclusion.

Krav

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in software testing activities (test case development, execution, defect validation, documentation).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation skills.
Familiarity with Windows operating systems, networking concepts, and hardware/software deployment.
Experience with software lifecycle management, collaboration, or work management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
Understanding of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and software development lifecycle processes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and quality.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Experience with industrial automation systems, process control technologies, asset reliability solutions, or related industries.
Experience supporting customer deployment environments, hardware configuration, networking, lab infrastructure, or field device setup.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC).
Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat mitigation, security validation, or secure software development.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with scripting, test automation, or tools (PowerShell, Python, Ranorex).
Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering and productivity tools.
Professional certifications in software testing, quality assurance, Agile methodologies, or project delivery frameworks.
