Qualcomm Research is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to drive cutting-edge 6G wireless research, focusing on algorithm and protocol integration on general-purpose compute servers. The role involves full lifecycle embedded SW development, optimization for real-time systems, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Ansvarsområden

  • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software across the full development lifecycle.
  • Develop software for technology characterization, operator trials, demos, and industry showcases.
  • Interact with system architects to understand high-level system design and requirements.
  • Synthesize software designs based on system requirements.
  • Contribute to technical design and reviews, providing engineering input.
  • Perform on-target and off-target development and debugging.
  • Diagnose and resolve functional, performance, and stability issues using embedded debug tools.
  • Optimize performance and timing constraints in real-time embedded systems.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Contribute to subsystem-level integration and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, baseband and RF SW engineers, and test engineers.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Proficiency in Object-oriented software design and development.
  • Understanding of multi-threading, OS fundamentals.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and work status clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams in a fast-paced, collaborative and diverse software engineering environment.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering OR 2 years of work experience in an Embedded Software Engineering field.
  • Familiarity in debugging using tools such as gdb, perf, etc.
  • Experience doing log-analysis to determine root cause.
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing CPU utilization, latency, and throughput.
  • Experience with distributed systems, client-server architectures, or cloud/edge computing.
  • Experience developing or integrating end-to-end applications.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, wireless systems, QoS frameworks, protocols such as 5G NR, LTE, and 802.11.
  • Aptitude to seek and adopt productivity enhancement processes/tools (AI-based & other).
