Sandvik Mining is looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist in Winnipeg, Canada. This role is key to supporting EHS compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement in operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS management systems and experience with risk assessments.
Ansvarsområden
- Support and lead studies, audits, and ICAM investigations to ensure compliance with EHS laws, standards, and regulations.
- Support and communicate the EHS management system and associated processes for Winnipeg operations and Sales Area Canada.
- Support and communicate incident and hazard management processes for employees and supervisors.
- Promote safety-conscious work practices and support the development and delivery of training programs.
- Monitor applicable EHS legislation, maintain current records in Sandvik databases, and communicate relevant changes.
- Support environmental, health, and safety contractor management processes.
- Participate in internal and external ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and other risk assessments in high-risk situations.
- Provide practical, hands-on EHS support to workshops, warehouses, remote services, and the Winnipeg assembly line.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Krav
- Completed post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Two to five years of relevant environmental health and safety experience; experience in mining, construction, or oil and gas is an asset.
- Experience with environmental health and safety management systems and incident investigations using ICAM or a similar methodology.
- Knowledge of job hazard analysis and other risk-assessment methods used in high-risk environments.
- Knowledge of applicable EHS legislation and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Experience developing and implementing policies and training programs.
- Knowledge of data management systems and business intelligence or relational database applications.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Excel Power Query, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation is an asset but is not required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken, is a strong asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and ability to travel occasionally, up to once per quarter.
- Ability to work primarily on site in Winnipeg with regular exposure to the shop and assembly-line environment.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
