Job Summary
The SAM Head will be responsible for driving the enterprise-wide Software and Hardware Asset Management (SAM & HAM) strategy, governance, and operations across Global IT Services. This role ensures full compliance with commercial, contractual, and legal requirements while optimizing software licenses, hardware assets, lifecycle costs, and vendor engagement. Key Responsibilities 1. Software & Hardware Asset Strategy and Governance Plan, design, define, implement, and manage Software and Hardware Asset Management policies, processes, and governance frameworks aligned with organizational objectives. Develop, maintain, and enforce SAM & HAM standards, ensuring alignment with Global IT and ITAM best practices. Establish end‑to‑end asset lifecycle governance covering procurement, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and disposal. 2. Compliance, Risk & Audit Management Ensure complete asset control points for software licenses and physical hardware assets to maintain legal, contractual, and financial compliance. Identify, assess, and escalate risks related to unauthorized hardware usage, shadow IT, software misuse, or contractual non‑compliance. Lead internal audits and support external vendor audits covering both software and hardware assets, ensuring timely closure and remediation 3. License, Hardware Operations & Optimization Review, validate, and approve software license and hardware asset requests. Ensure optimal utilization of existing hardware inventory (laptops, servers, network devices, peripherals) before new procurement. Maintain accurate software license positions and hardware asset records, escalating exceptions where required. Drive cost optimization through hardware standardization, refresh cycles, redeployment, and retirement strategies. 4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Engage with software publishers, hardware vendors, procurement, finance, and IT operations teams to manage contracts, renewals, and negotiations. Advise stakeholders on licensing and hardware implications for projects, data center changes, cloud migrations, and transformation programs. 5. SAM, HAM Tools, CMDB & Data Quality Oversee and enhance SAM and HAM tools, asset repositories, and CMDB governance. Ensure high data accuracy and reconciliation between discovery tools, asset inventories, financial systems, and CMDB. Define KPIs and reporting for software compliance, hardware lifecycle status, and asset optimization.
