Volvo Cars is seeking a DevOps Engineer to contribute to digital operations and application stability at their new electric car factory in Košice, Slovakia. The role involves managing the software lifecycle, ensuring high availability and performance, and driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Ansvarsområden

Analyze user requirements and translate them into digital functions, adhering to Volvo standards.
Manage software testing (UAT), rollout plans, deployment, verification, and handover.
Drive software problem tickets to resolution and ensure task execution.
Ensure readiness for cutover, go-live, hypercare, and stabilization phases.
Maintain high availability, performance, operational stability, and predictability.
Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and internal controls.
Oversee monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery practices.
Steer application lifecycle, upgrades, and technical debt with central product teams.
Drive continuous improvement in stability, quality, and ways of working.

Krav

Several years of experience in software engineering as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing/factory environment.
Exceptional understanding and practical knowledge of all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using agile development practices, including development, testing, rollout, deployment (CI/CD pipelines), and support.
Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization, version control, IaC, and tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform, and Ansible.
Experience implementing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions.
Knowledge of Scripting/Programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Bash for automation.
Knowledge and working experience with relational databases.
Knowledge and preferable experience with application operation & monitoring (log analysis, database statistics, middleware understanding, log/configuration review).
Understanding of web technology stack (HTML, HTTP), modern web frameworks (React, Angular), and back-end development (Java, Node.js), including data models, persistence layers, services, caching, and messaging is a plus.
English language proficiency.
Flexibility to work within an organization undergoing transformation or in a green-field environment.
Demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team.
Problem-solving and a continuous improvement mindset.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Preferred university education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Certification in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP is preferred.
