ABB is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Xiamen, China, to create and modify standard designs of equipment and systems. This role involves producing engineering drawings, BOMs, and providing technical support for low-voltage switchgear projects. Ansvarsområden

  • Independently complete low-voltage switchgear designs for simple and moderately complex projects, including engineering drawings, BOMs, and other project documents.
  • Guide/proofread other engineers' designs for simple projects.
  • Provide necessary technical support for quotations, inspections, and services.
  • Understand customer needs and prepare project proposal documents.
  • Identify and manage project deviations and customer change requests.
  • Manage design and proofreading time according to project plans and costs to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Assist the team in achieving team design targets.
  • Identify and assess design risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Explore project opportunities, analyze cost-effectiveness, and suggest measures to improve design efficiency and project profit.
  • Assist customers in resolving technical project issues.
  • Participate in customer technical meetings and present products and design clarifications.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management to evaluate technical parameters of products.
  • Assist in preparing technical requirements for components like steel channels and busbar trunks.
  • Build and maintain collegial relationships.
  • Proactively collect, learn, share, and summarize project design experience to improve design output efficiency and quality.
  • Use standard processes and tools for project design, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
  • Identify inefficient processes and tools and suggest improvements.
  • Set reasonable plans for assistant engineers and guide them to completion.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in a mechanical-related major.
  • 3 to 8 years of work experience.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress from different functions and projects.
  • Good problem analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills and an open-minded attitude.
  • Good English ability.
