Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is looking for a Data Scientist to develop advanced analytics solutions in Tampere, Finland. The role involves designing and building market-leading solutions using data from telematics, maintenance, and logistics, reporting to the Productivity & Reliability Centre Manager.

Ansvarsområden

  • Building dashboard solutions based on customer requests.
  • Combining telemetry, maintenance, and logistics data to develop valuable insights and solutions.
  • Participating in design of real-time anomaly detection based on time-series modelling.
  • Participating in the design and execution phase of data pipelines.
  • Proactively identifying and championing solutions that solve complex problems across multiple data sources.
  • Building state-of-the-art predictive models and algorithms to support operations and business decisions.

Krav

  • Strong mathematical & analytical background.
  • Good coding skills.
  • Degree in applied physics/mathematics or computer/data science.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience in working with analytics tools and programming languages such as Python (Pandas, Pyspark, Plotly).
  • Experience in working with common visualization tools like PowerBI including M-Query, DAX and native queries in SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics including data cleaning and manipulation.
  • Curious mind and ability to work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of written and spoken English is essential.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Programming skills with JavaScript and Grafana.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and database technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of applied analytics and machine learning methods.
  • Previous experience in software development and data engineering.
  • Experience in mining/construction or heavy machinery industry is welcome.
  • Confident in presenting to different audiences, influencing others, and collaborating across organizations, cultures, and geographies.
