AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Data Centre Technician in Mumbai, India, to join their Data Center Operations team. This role involves maintaining and expanding AWS global infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, and ensuring system reliability in a 24/7 environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in computer networking, Linux operating systems, and possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Ansvarsområden

  • Maintain high system reliability by resolving trouble tickets efficiently.
  • Act as an escalation point and troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems.
  • Deep dive into Linux server issues and XEN service virtualization.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across Systems, Networking, and Power/Mechanical components.
  • Remediate physical layer outages and physical power issues on racks.
  • Participate in Data Center power and cooling events.
  • Meet 24x7 on-call requirements and respond during shift rotations.
  • Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
  • Triage and resolve trouble tickets for devices in your region.
  • Serve as the Data Center point of contact for High Severity issues.
  • Perform physical replacement of server and network device parts.
  • Ensure correct rotation of parts and spares.
  • Help define metrics to increase customer uptime.
  • Enforce security best practices.
  • Interact with third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in and deliver on small to mid-scale projects.
  • Attend internal team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.

Krav

  • 2+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
  • Experience operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
