AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer in Hyderabad, Telangana to design, deliver, and operate global cloud infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting Linux server issues, managing hardware, and ensuring system reliability in a 24/7 on-call environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of experience in networking and Linux operating systems.

Ansvarsområden

  • Prioritize and resolve trouble tickets efficiently, including system and network hardware problems.
  • Perform deep dives into Linux server issues and XEN service virtualization troubleshooting.
  • Remediate physical layer outages for systems and network, and address physical power issues on racks.
  • Participate in Data Center power and cooling events.
  • Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
  • Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
  • Act as the Data Center point of contact for High Severity issues.
  • Physically replace server and network device parts and ensure correct rotation of parts & spares.
  • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency and enforce Security Best Practices.
  • Interact with third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Participate in and deliver on high impact small to mid-scale projects.
  • Share knowledge and help educate less technical staff on best practices.
  • Contribute to the hiring process by interviewing candidates.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
