AWS Infrastructure Services seeks a Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer in Hyderabad, India, to support the operation of AWS global infrastructure. Responsibilities include troubleshooting Linux server and network hardware issues, managing on-call rotations, and participating in projects to build and maintain large-scale cloud computing infrastructure.

Ansvarsområden

  • Prioritize and resolve trouble tickets efficiently for system reliability.
  • Act as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems.
  • Deep dive into Linux server issues and troubleshoot XEN service virtualization.
  • Remediate physical layer outages for systems, networks, and power issues on racks.
  • Participate in data center power and cooling events.
  • Meet 24x7 on-call requirements and respond during shift rotations.
  • Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
  • Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
  • Serve as the Data Center point of contact for all High Severity issues.
  • Physically replace server and network device parts.
  • Ensure correct rotation of parts and spares.
  • Help define metrics to increase customer uptime.
  • Enforce Security Best Practices at ADSIPL.
  • Interact with third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in and deliver on high impact small to mid-scale projects.
  • Participate in internal team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.
  • Help build the world's largest Cloud infrastructure in India.
  • Share knowledge and help educate less technical staff on best practices.
  • Contribute to the hiring process by participating in candidate interviews.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
