Microsoft is seeking a Data Center Technician (DCT) for a fully on-site role in Malaysia. The DCT will be responsible for hardware deployment, setup, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and decommissioning following standard procedures. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent and at least 1 year of IT equipment support experience.
Ansvarsområden
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, identify causes of issues, and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
- Perform post-execution quality checks for grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
- Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
- Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management units and specialists.
- Assist and provide guidance to other technicians on challenging tasks.
- Complete required training and gain hands-on experience by observing experienced technicians.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in team meetings.
- Take ownership of service quality, completeness, and user experience, displaying accountability for data center facilities.
Krav
- Bachelors Degree in IT industry or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
- 1+ year(s) industry experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Verification of Malaysian Citizenship is required; a valid Malaysian passport must be provided.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+).
- Basic Structure Cabling (BSC) certification.
