Emerson is seeking a Contracts Counsel to provide purchasing-related contract services to the Supply Chain organization, with a focus on LATAM. This hybrid role involves drafting, negotiating, and managing agreements, offering legal advice, and participating in global projects. The position requires legal expertise, negotiation skills, and experience with contract lifecycle management tools.

Ansvarsområden

Reviews, drafts, and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal standards.
Responds to vendors’ documents and contractual requests.
Drafts and negotiates appropriate contractual language to reflect business interests and policies.
Takes the Contracts Lead role on less complex international and multi-BU project contracts and frame agreements.
Provides advice during the approval process to assist business owners.
Interfaces with vendors, Law Department members, and other Emerson stakeholders.
Analyzes business, financial, and legal risks.
Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs.
Provides contract-related guidance to Supply Chain, Project Management, and other stakeholders.
Works in Contract lifecycle management tools (Oracle CLM, DocuSign CLM, etc.).
Drafts templates and updates Emerson standard purchasing T&Cs.
Conducts legal research.
Provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters.

Krav

4 years of work experience in a contracts-related role.
Law Degree is preferred.
Licensed to practice law.
Completion of IACCM Advanced Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Practitioner and IACCM “Oil & Gas Contracting in Practice” preferred.
Intermediate MS Office skills.
Excellent oral and written English.
Portuguese is an advantage.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of Contract law & principles.
Understanding of commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties.
