Qualcomm is looking for a Senior Component Engineer in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, to join their Corporate Component Engineering team. The role involves reviewing third-party component datasheets, collaborating with suppliers on custom compute component solutions, and managing the Compute CS Platform roadmap. This position requires strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills to support fast-paced design schedules.

Ansvarsområden

  • Operate as a member of the Corporate Component Engineering team.
  • Review third-party Compute component datasheets for accuracy.
  • Work with suppliers to find Compute component solutions.
  • Work with suppliers to develop custom Compute thermal solutions and Compute IC solutions.
  • Manage the Compute CS Platform roadmap.
  • Work with Qualcomm Core Compute Technology Teams, Compute Component Suppliers, IT, and Sourcing.
  • Coordinate Global 3rd Party Compute activities across Qualcomm's Global Engineer Community.
  • Respond to Compute component requirements.
  • Create Material Control Numbers (MCNs) for electrical and non-electrical components.
  • Validate requests to make changes to existing MCNs.
  • Communicate and interact with Compute Component Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs, suppliers) to develop Custom Interconnect Solutions.
  • Communicate and interact with Component Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs, suppliers) for samples and additional information.
  • Interact with Component Engineers, Engineers, PdMs, PgMs, OEMs, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Planning, Support Engineering and Configuration Management.
  • Work with Compute hardware development and test teams to guide component selection and drive supplier’s custom development aligned with application, function, cost, and schedule.
  • Work with hardware designers to comprehend new product needs, perform industry component searches and create mini specifications.
  • Work with the design team and the suppliers to evaluate, iterate and integrate new products into platform designs.
  • Assimilate quickly into existing projects and support fast-moving design schedules.

Krav

  • BSEE with EE experience.
  • 2+ years Hardware Engineering experience designing x86 or Snapdragon HW.
  • Familiar with COTS Compute Interfaces.
  • Proficient with all MS Office 365 Tools.
  • Understanding of how to use AI to efficiently solve problems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, organize effectively, and work with cross-functional teams across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong multi-discipline engineering, technical, analytical skills.
  • Understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts and solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience as a Component Engineer in the Compute Industry, and/or IC Supplier FAE to the Compute ODM/OEMs.
  • Familiarity with x86 ecosystem.
  • Knowledge base of key component suppliers.
  • 2+ years Field Applications Engineer experience working with compute components.
  • Deep knowledge of computer solutions.
  • BSEE with EE experience.
  • Experience in Agile or similar PLM software.
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Proficient with Visio
  • Proficient with all MS Office 365 Tools
  • Understanding of how to use AI to efficiently solve problems.
