Saab UK is seeking a Communications & Information Systems Technician in Andover, Hampshire to provide technical and logistical support for laser-based training equipment used by the British Army. Responsibilities include maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting communication systems, with potential travel to other sites and exercises.

Ansvarsområden

  • Assist in planning and preparation of CSS/Excon equipment (packing, system configuration, testing).
  • Issue and receipt of CSS/Excon equipment.
  • Corrective and preventative maintenance of CSS/Excon equipment.
  • Technical troubleshooting including helpdesk support to field teams.
  • Telescopic mast work and maintenance.
  • Occasional in-field technical support of exercises to include set-up/tear down of CSS and Excon and through-exercise system monitoring and trouble shooting.
  • Instructing equipment use.
  • Occasional extended working hours and travel (including some weekend work).

Krav

  • Proven experience in IT with a good understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft & networking
  • Math & English academic qualifications (GCSE A-C grade or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of electrical & mechanical repairs including IPC Certification for Soldering Electrical & Electronic Assemblies or equivalent
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks & prioritise effectively
  • Attention to detail & ability to identify discrepancies & resolve issues promptly
  • Familiarity with safety & compliance regulations within the industry, including hazardous material handling
  • Good communication skills with the ability to be in a customer facing role
  • Willingness to work within the customer’s environment which may include adverse conditions.
  • Full UK driving license

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • GCSE/BTEC or equivalent experience in ICT
  • Forklift operating license
  • Previous mast work experience
