Cloud front-end engineer

Your role

Are you passionate about cloud technologies, industrial IoT, and transforming complex engineering data into elegant, user-friendly frontend designs?

What does a frontend software engineer do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As a frontend software engineer, you will become part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts and generalists dedicated to implementing smart systems and next-generation control platforms. Your primary responsibility as a frontend software engineer is to translate complex use cases and high-level requirements into clean, testable code and modern, intuitive user interfaces for our cloud-based sales tools and engineering software. In this role, you will manage the complete development lifecycle—from conceptual design, requirements analysis, and building prototypes to implementation, testing, and final product delivery. You will track emerging tech trends in Industry 4.0 and automation tools while proposing, defending, and leading technical projects with cross-functional stakeholders, industrial partners, and academic research institutes.

In this role, you will report to the software development team leader and work on site at our facility in Wilrijk.

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related industrial engineering field

• Proven experience in frontend web development backed by a strong portfolio

• Technical proficiency utilizing React and TypeScript to build scalable user interfaces

• Practical knowledge of modern web tooling, HTML5, I18N, and cloud application development

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both engineering and product management teams

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site.
