Alstom is seeking a full-time Buyer - Metallics in Bangalore with 8-10 years of experience in commodity management or buying within manufacturing. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier performance, and supporting tender phases, with an emphasis on innovation and digitalization.

Ansvarsområden

  • Develop and manage programs to meet Alstom’s purchasing strategic initiatives for global and regional requirements.
  • Manage the complete procurement process, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to set and achieve operational goals.
  • Prepare and implement supporting work plans.
  • Monitor suppliers’ performance and address issues such as warranties and claims.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and reputational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and secure capacities to grow the business in the region.
  • Represent the commodities towards projects and platforms, providing tailored solutions to project needs.
  • Support the Commodity Manager and bid sourcing manager during tender phases.
  • Foster effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.
  • 8–10 years of experience in commodity management or as a buyer in a manufacturing industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and the ability to influence and convince.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in quote analysis and negotiation.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commodities in your area of specialization.
  • Experience in bringing innovation and AI-led digitalization to procurement.
  • Practiced innovation and AI-led digitalization for enhanced efficiency.
