Volvo Truck & Bus is offering an Apprentice HGV Technician position in Thetford, starting in 2027. This full-time, on-site role involves hands-on training in repairing, servicing, and maintaining heavy vehicles with a focus on cutting-edge technology and sustainability. The program includes classroom learning and practical experience, leading to a Level 3 qualification.

Ansvarsområden

  • Assist with repairs in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools.
  • Participate in the fault diagnosis process.
  • Learn and comply with warranty procedures.
  • Work with the parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
  • Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with cleaning the workshop and ensuring company time recording procedures are followed.
  • Report all vehicle defects to the workshop Supervisor.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Attend college courses regularly and achieve the required standards.
  • Attend technical or development training.

Krav

  • Enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in heavy vehicles.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
  • Desired qualifications: GCSE A* to C/Grade 4 in Math and English.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Apprenticeship level – Advanced Level Apprenticeship.
  • Expected apprenticeship duration – 32 months.
  • Possible start dates May & August 2027.
  • Training delivered in the workplace and on block release at Inspiro dedicated Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby.
  • Total of 18 blocks over the 32-month programme, split between virtual classes and days in Derby.
