Volvo Truck & Bus is seeking motivated individuals for their Apprentice HGV Technician program in Reading, starting in 2027. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive training, hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, and a structured apprenticeship leading to a Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 qualification.

Ansvarsområden

  • Assist with repairs in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools.
  • Participate in the fault diagnosis process.
  • Learn and comply with warranty procedures.
  • Work with the parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
  • Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with cleaning the workshop.
  • Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with and job cards are completed accurately.
  • Report all vehicle defects to the workshop Supervisor.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Attend college courses regularly and achieve required standards.
  • Attend technical or development training.

Krav

  • Enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in heavy vehicles.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
  • Desired qualifications: GCSE A* to C/Grade 4 in Math and English.
