Volvo Truck & Bus is seeking motivated individuals for their Apprentice HGV Technician program starting in 2027. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive training, hands-on experience with modern trucks and buses, and career advancement opportunities within the Volvo Group.
Ansvarsområden
- Assist with repairs in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools.
- Participate in fault diagnosis.
- Learn and comply with warranty procedures.
- Assist the parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
- Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with cleaning the workshop.
- Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with and job cards are completed accurately.
- Report all vehicle defects to the workshop Supervisor.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Attend college courses regularly and achieve the required standards.
- Attend technical or development training.
Krav
- Enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in heavy vehicles.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
- Desired qualifications: GCSE A* to C/Grade 4 in Math and English.
- Willingness to attend college courses and achieve required standards.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Possible start dates May & August 2027.
- Apprenticeship level – Advanced Level Apprenticeship.
- 32-month program with 18 blocks of training, split between virtual classes and days in Derby.
- Training delivered in the workplace and on block release at Inspiro dedicated Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby.
- Opportunity to learn how to repair, service, MOT and maintain modern trucks, buses and coaches including hybrid technology.
