Amazon is seeking a strong Applied Scientist to join the Vertical Search Relevance India team in Bengaluru. This role involves building machine learning models for Product Search, developing new ranking features, and improving the overall search experience for millions of customers worldwide. You will be responsible for the full development cycle, from design to production deployment, and will collaborate with engineers and scientists to solve complex problems.

Ansvarsområden

  • Build machine learning models for Product Search.
  • Develop new ranking features and techniques based on academic research.
  • Propose and validate hypotheses to guide business and product roadmaps.
  • Design, develop, and implement production-level code serving billions of search requests.
  • Own the full development cycle: design, development, impact assessment, A/B testing, and production deployment.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and teams within A9.com and Amazon.com.
  • Understand search team needs, distill them into projects, and implement with long-term impact.
  • Work backwards from customer problems to develop elegant solutions for speed and scalability.

Krav

  • 3+ years of building models for business application experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
  • Strong fundamentals on a broad set of ML approaches and techniques.
  • Strong fundamentals in problem solving and algorithm design.
  • Strong interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies with commercial impact.
