I korthet
As a Sr. Staff Applications Engineer at Synopsys in Austin, Texas, you will support customer adoption of Fusion Compiler by diagnosing complex place and route issues and driving resolutions with engineering teams. You will lead technical engagements with advanced node customers, defining deployment strategies and providing training to customer engineering teams.
Ansvarsområden
- Support customer adoption of Fusion Compiler by diagnosing complex place and route issues, reproducing problems in-house, and driving resolution with engineering teams
- Lead technical engagements with advanced node customers, defining deployment strategies that align tool capabilities with their design goals and constraints
- Roll out new product methodologies by designing and delivering training sessions, workshops, and hands-on enablement for customer engineering teams
- Serve as the technical voice of the customer to the product team, translating field feedback into actionable feature requests, bug reports, and roadmap input
- Collaborate with account teams to shape technical solutions during pre-sales and post-deployment phases, ensuring customers see measurable improvements in PPA and turnaround time
- Debug and optimize customer flows across design planning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure using Fusion Compiler and related Synopsys tools
- Build and maintain deep technical relationships with customer architects and implementation leads, becoming their go-to resource for methodology questions and escalations
Krav
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Deep expertise in place and route methodologies, including floorplanning, placement optimization, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure
- Proven experience with Synopsys Fusion Compiler in a production design environment or customer-facing role
- Strong working knowledge of static timing analysis (STA) and low power design flows, including multi-voltage domains and power gating techniques
- Proficiency in TCL scripting for automation, flow customization, and debug
- Experience with advanced node designs (7nm and below) is a strong plus
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed, typically 20-30% depending on account needs
Önskade kvalifikationer
- You can walk into a room where a customer's design is failing timing by 500ps and leave two hours later with a clear plan, a list of owners, and everyone aligned on next steps
- When a customer pushes back on a recommended flow change, you do not just defend it, you explain the tradeoff in terms of their schedule, their PPA targets, and their team's capacity
- You are comfortable presenting technical content to both hands-on engineers who want to see waveforms and directors who want to know if this will delay the tapeout
- Ambiguity does not slow you down. If the customer has not fully defined their problem, you ask the right questions to get to the root cause without waiting for a perfect ticket
- You keep track of multiple customer engagements at once without dropping threads, and you know when to escalate internally before a small issue becomes a crisis
- You genuinely enjoy teaching, and you measure success not just by whether the issue got solved, but by whether the customer can solve the next one on their own
