Synopsys seeks a Sr. Staff Applications Engineer in Tokyo, Japan, to architect IP solutions and support customer ASIC/SoC design challenges. Ansvarsområden

  • Partner with sales to understand customer ASIC/SoC challenges and architect IP solutions.
  • Lead technical evaluations with customer engineering teams, coordinating with R&D.
  • Conduct design reviews and technical presentations on IP integration.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to Synopsys IP product teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues involving RTL, synthesis, timing, and verification.
  • Travel approximately 15-30% to customer sites and engineering centers.
  • Build deep technical relationships with customer architects and engineers.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of SoC architectures and system-level design practices.
  • Hands-on experience with RTL design and verification using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Solid understanding of synthesis, static timing analysis, and physical design flows.
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal design and verification flows.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 15-30% within Japan and occasionally to other regions.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with interface and connectivity protocols such as USB, PCIe, CXL, DDR, MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, or AMBA is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience selecting, using, designing, or supporting IP in a customer-facing or applications engineering role is a plus.
  • Ability to walk into a customer meeting with incomplete information and develop a clear technical plan.
  • Skill to explain complex tradeoffs to senior architects concisely.
  • Comfort coordinating across multiple internal and external teams.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical summaries and status updates.
  • Calm demeanor when facing customer evaluation challenges or timeline compression.
  • Having a point of view on good IP integration and willingness to push back when necessary.
