The SRE L2 Engineer will ensure the stability, availability, and performance of production applications built on the Microsoft technology stack (.NET, IIS, SQL Server). This role involves L2 production support, advanced troubleshooting, and proactive reliability engineering to minimize incidents and improve operational efficiency. The engineer will act as a liaison between support, infrastructure, and development teams for seamless application operations.

Ansvarsområden

  • Manage day-to-day application operations for .NET-based applications hosted on IIS and backed by SQL Server.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of production environments.
  • Monitor application health (availability, latency, errors, capacity) and take proactive actions.
  • Perform L2-level troubleshooting for incidents escalated from L1 and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Configure and manage application monitoring, alerting, and dashboards.
  • Manage IIS web servers including configuration, deployment, SSL certificates, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer SQL Server databases, focusing on query optimization, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and health monitoring.
  • Develop scripts/tools (PowerShell / C#) to reduce operational toil and identify recurring issues for automation or permanent fixes.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DB teams for issue resolution and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles.

Krav

  • Strong experience in .NET / ASP.NET applications.
  • Hands-on experience with IIS (Internet Information Services).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (querying, tuning, troubleshooting).
  • Experience in production support (L2).
  • Strong understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management (ITIL).
  • Strong understanding of Monitoring and observability tools.
  • Strong understanding of Performance tuning and capacity management.
  • Familiarity with SLO / SLA / Error Budget concepts.
  • Familiarity with Automation and scripting.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments.
  • Knowledge of Application deployment and configuration.
  • Knowledge of Log analysis and debugging.
  • Knowledge of Observability using solutions such as Splunk.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure during major incidents.
  • Effective communication with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset across cross-functional teams.
  • 3–6 years of experience in Application Support / SRE / Production Support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or related field.
