Responsibilities
- Develop new welding technologies and drive technology transfer projects.
- Develop and implement WPQR and WPS.
- Monitor welders' performance, examining and certifying them.
- Maintain registers of valid welder competence approvals, WPQR, and WPS.
- Maintain a register of welding quality.
- Develop local procedures to meet legal and company requirements.
- Lead or participate in improvement activities to enhance welding quality and repeatability.
- Participate in a global network of welding coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14731 and ISO 3834-2.
- Provide training for welders and lead Welding Academy development.
Requirements
- Master of science in welding engineering, material engineering, or material science.
- IWE or EWE and VT qualifications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of welding standards and materials engineering.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCad, and Inventor programs.
- Ability to organize own time.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a technologist or welding engineer.
- Ability to fluently communicate in English.
