A Track Manager - Logical DBA, MySQL role focusing on design, implementation, and maintenance of critical database systems (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) to ensure application availability and performance. This position requires adherence to IT policies, security practices, and involves hands-on management of complex, large-scale databases in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

Design, configuration, build, implementation, maintenance, and performance of critical database systems.
Ensure availability and consistent performance of corporate applications.
Specializing in SQL Server, with responsibility for adhering to IT policies and standards including security practices.
Handle large databases with high complexity and non-uniformity at an enterprise corporate level.
Perform physical database management system design and build to support application development teams.
Translate logical data model designs into physical designs and assist with deployment and security configuration.
Serve as the primary development database point of contact, liaison to production support teams, and escalation point for incident management.
Complete work assignments and support business-specific projects by applying expertise.
Develop work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines, ensuring team follows all procedures and policies.
Coordinate and assign resources, collaborate cross-functionally, solve complex problems, and escalate issues.
Practice self-development and promote learning in others by proactively providing information, resources, advice, and expertise.
Leverage DevOps, Waterfall, and Agile practices to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume, high-transaction, on/off-premise, cloud-based solutions.
Support the review of team deliverables and provide recommendations on options, risks, costs, and benefits for systems designs.
Collaborate with team members to develop project support plans, schedules, and assignments.
Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications for designated infrastructure systems.
Serve as a liaison with business partners, Solutions, and enterprise architects to define and understand target strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field OR Minimum Six (6) years experience in an IT operations environment with technical experience in distributed technologies, systems development, and/or networking.
Six (6) years of overall IT experience in managing various database technologies.
Four (4) years of experience with MS SQL Server database (SQL Server versions 2016 through current).
Four (4) years of experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions such as Always On, Distributed Availability Group, Clustering, Log shipping and Replication.
Two (2) years experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Three (3) years experience using SQL or similar query language.
Two (2) years experience with Database utilities such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS) & SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
Two (2) years experience with database monitoring solutions like Foglight or other monitoring tools.
Two (2) years experience in supporting complex Development/projects.
Two (2) years experience in storage engineering and/or data backup engineering, including experience with data replication.
Three (3) years experience in database administration.
Two (2) years experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
Two (2) years experience with other database technology such as DB2 LUW, Sybase, Teradata, Datacom, Oracle, Postgres.
Two (2) years experience using PostgreSQL (versions 9.x through current), High Availability, Clustering and Replication features - Streaming Replication, Patroni, pgBouncer, pgPool.
Two (2) years experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database services.
Two (2) years scripting experience using UNIX/Linux scripting languages.
Two (2) years scripting experience using PowerShell scripting languages.
Two (2) years experience writing technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment.
Two (2) years coding experience with one or more programming languages.
Two (2) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
Three (3) years experience with Database Design, Engineering, Implementation and Operations.
Three (3) years experience with job design, Controlling and scheduling & Automation.
Two (2) years experience IT Service Management Process (Incidents, Change Management etc.).
Two (2) years experience with Microsoft Office tools.
Two (2) years experience working with operating system and client/server utilities.
Two (2) years experience working with configuration management software.
Two (2) years experience in the design and implementation of complex middleware infrastructure solutions.
Two (2) years experience working with load balancing technologies.
Two (2) years of experience building technology solutions to meet corporate or industry IT Policies and regulatory requirements.
Two (2) years experience in the design and implementation of complex data infrastructure solutions.
Two (2) years experience working on cross-functional project teams.
Three (3) years experience working in a large matrixed organization.
