Seeking an AI Activation Engineer to develop and implement AI-enabled tools on the Veeva Platform, focusing on measurable efficiency gains. Requires strong Python and LLM application development skills, experience with data-centric applications, web frameworks, and Agile methodologies. Responsibilities

  • Deliver AI-enabled tools with measurable efficiency gains.
  • Build, ship, and maintain real internal applications using Python.
  • Develop LLM-based applications including API integration, prompt design, RAG, and embeddings.
  • Work with relational data, structured file ingestion, and data modeling.
  • Utilize Python web/data application frameworks (Streamlit, Dash, FastAPI) and engineering disciplines (Git, code review, deployment).
  • Collaborate with non-AI practitioners to drive AI adoption.
  • Understand and manage AI risk and governance in an enterprise setting.
  • Work within regulated (GxP/validated) environments.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery processes.
  • Communicate AI capabilities and limitations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Gain Veeva Vault literacy within the first 8 weeks for building AI over Vault configuration and documentation.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated delivery of AI-enabled tools with measurable efficiency gains.
  • Solid software engineering foundation with strong hands-on Python.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications (API integration, prompt design, RAG, embeddings, vector/semantic search, chunking, evaluation, cost/latency control).
  • Practical experience with data-centric applications (relational data, file parsing, data modeling, validation).
  • Experience with a Python web/data application framework (Streamlit, Dash, FastAPI or equivalent) and standard engineering discipline (Git/GitHub, code review, environment management, deployment).
  • Demonstrated ability to work alongside non-AI practitioners and drive adoption.
  • Awareness of AI risk and governance (data privacy, hallucination, oversight, change control, Responsible AI).
  • Willingness and ability to work within a regulated (GxP/validated) environment.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery (Jira-based backlog, sprint-level delivery).
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Veeva Vault literacy or demonstrated ability to achieve it within 8 weeks (object/metadata model, configuration exports/reports, VQL, Vault REST API).

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to explain AI capability and its limits in plain language.
  • Role will be cross-trained in Veeva by the CoE.
