As a Team Leader for US Payroll Operations in Mandaluyong, Philippines, you will lead a team responsible for day-to-day U.S. payroll processing across multiple entities. This hybrid role ensures accurate and timely payroll execution, compliance with regulations, and drives operational excellence through process improvements and collaboration with HR and Finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full-cycle payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely U.S. payroll execution across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations; monitor legislative updates and implement required process changes.
  • Support the payroll team and serve as a backup for payroll processing activities, including payroll entries, off-cycle payments, check printing, NACHA file preparation, system testing, and related tasks.
  • Act as a payroll subject matter advisor to business partners and provide expertise on payroll elements, including configuration, documentation, creation, and testing, in partnership with internal teams.
  • Proactively identify and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness, while supporting internal inquiries and ad hoc business requirements.
  • Lead year-end and year-beginning payroll activities, ensuring project plans are executed successfully and in collaboration with key partners.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex payroll discrepancies by conducting thorough root-cause analysis and ensuring process gaps are identified and addressed.
  • Ensure adherence to global standards and KPIs, and maintain service levels for employees and payroll partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in people leadership and/or project leadership, preferably in a high-volume payroll or finance environment.
  • 5 years of experience in payroll processing and reporting activities, preferably in a high-volume, multi-jurisdiction environment.
  • Experience supporting U.S. payroll operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage payroll activities, including off-cycle payments and AP interfaces.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll accounting is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle, E-Business Suites, and ADP Smart Compliance applications is a plus.
  • Experience with payroll conversions, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures is a plus.
