Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Internal Auditor to join their Corporate Internal Audit & Advisory Services team in San Diego, CA. This full-time, onsite role involves executing internal audits using a risk-based methodology, assessing risks, evaluating controls, and communicating observations. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of internal audits using Qualcomm’s risk-based audit methodology.
  • Create initial audit planning memos and process and control flows.
  • Identify and assess risks and control activities.
  • Design audit procedures to evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Perform audit testing and identify deviations from expected control activities.
  • Effectively communicate observations to the audit team and business management.
  • Stay abreast of changes in the business and industry to assess impacts to the company’s risk profile.
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques.
  • Make continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in internal auditing, external auditing, or SOX compliance within a global public company (preferably in the high-tech industry), Big 4/mid-tier accounting firm or other fast-paced corporate setting.

Desired Qualifications

  • Semiconductor business experience or familiarity.
  • Ability to travel (infrequently) to Qualcomm’s domestic and international locations.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Fast learner with strong interpersonal, organization, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to get things done and take responsibility.
  • Ability to recognize and apply a sense of urgency, when necessary.
  • Ability to work in flexible and non-hierarchical team environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional maturity, good work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and multi-task to meet deadlines with high-quality deliverables.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
