Microsoft is seeking a Sourcing and Category Management IC4 to lead procurement strategies for data center electrical or mechanical programs across the Americas. This role involves driving supplier engagement, managing demand, mitigating risks, and optimizing costs to support critical infrastructure deployment. The position offers a hybrid work model and is based in Redmond, WA, or remote.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, procurement, and commercial strategy for Data Center Electrical or Mechanical programs across the Americas.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) and Long Lead Equipment (LLE).
- Partner with Engineering, Construction, Critical Environment, and other teams to align procurement strategies with execution plans.
- Drive supplier engagement and commercial negotiations, including master agreements and purchase orders.
- Manage equipment demand planning, capacity allocation, and delivery sequencing.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain, commercial, technical, and execution risks.
- Lead supplier performance governance through executive engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies supporting equipment standardization and modernization.
- Drive cost optimization opportunities through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
- Establish procurement governance, forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics.
- Support capital planning and investment decisions by providing market intelligence and risk analysis.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- OR equivalent experience.
