Join the Windows Cloud Experiences team to build the next-generation remote desktop experience for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop. This Software Engineer II role involves full-stack development, including front-end, cloud-native microservices, and Agentic AI applications. Responsibilities
- Design and implement Windows Cloud Experience features for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Drive innovation across the stack, including front-end UX, back-end services, Graph API, authentication, telemetry, and data analytics.
- Build production-ready Agentic AI applications using LLMs, RAG, tool calling, MCP, and AI evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design) to deliver end-to-end scenarios meeting customer needs.
- Execute the full software development lifecycle: architecture, implementation, deployment, and live service operations, ensuring service quality and resilience.
- Engage with stakeholders and customers to gather feedback, address technical challenges, and continuously improve product experience.
- Participate in engineering excellence initiatives like code reviews, architecture discussions, and process improvements.
- Uphold high standards of craftsmanship, ensuring solutions are robust, maintainable, and aligned with security principles like Zero Trust.
- Solve complex technical problems and contribute to a culture of curiosity, agility, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of software engineering experience in designing, developing, testing and maintaining production-quality software.
- Hands-on experience with modern development languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or equivalent.
- Excellent technical design and troubleshooting skills in both front-end and back-end.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms or distributed systems.
- Experience with generative AI development, including prompt engineering, RAG, agent frameworks, and responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, and agile software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions is a plus.
- Solid understanding of security principles and experience implementing with them.
- A growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, mentoring, and contributing to engineering excellence.
- Experience of collaborating across teams to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions.
