Trillium is looking for a proactive SHEQ Coordinator to join their team in Hamburg, New Jersey. This role involves developing, implementing, and sustaining safety, health, and environmental programs, conducting inspections, training employees, and managing documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement SHEQ policies and RCE’s to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards, non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SHEQ activities.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of SHEQ programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ considerations into daily operations.
  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Facilitate open communication channels to promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.
  • Organize information sharing events and provide material for recurring safety meetings.
  • Oversee chemical inventory database to ensure that the site adequately track Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
  • Collaborate with Site management and human resources to ensure effective communication and coordination of safety initiatives and candidate onboarding.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, preferably in a multi-location setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards, and best practices applicable to the industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software/tools.
