Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of the Java language, runtime behavior, bytecode compatibility, and common library APIs.
  • Dependency Management using Maven.
  • Backward Compatibility Analysis by reviewing release notes and changelogs.
  • Patch Management, including creating, maintaining, and resolving merge conflicts.
  • Static Analysis and resolving compilation failures.
  • Strong debugging skills for reverse-dependencies, identifying issues after library upgrades.
  • Unit testing.
  • Experience with the Google Tech stack is good to have.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin is good to have.
  • Proficiency in Copybara is good to have.
