In short

We are seeking an experienced SAP Retail Functional and Data Mapping Consultant with strong knowledge of SAP ECC retail processes and POS outbound interfaces. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyse SAP IDoc and flat-file structures, understand individual segments and fields, and prepare detailed source-to-target mappings for Oracle Xstore or other downstream POS applications.

Responsibilities

Analyse SAP ECC retail data structures and outbound POS interface files.
Interpret SAP IDoc control records, data segments, field positions, parent-child relationships and record sequences.
Analyse fixed-width, XML and delimited representations of SAP IDocs.
Prepare detailed field-level mappings between SAP ECC and Oracle Xstore or other retail POS systems.
Understand the business purpose and technical structure of retail interfaces such as: Article and item data, Item descriptions, Merchandise categories and hierarchies, Units of measure, Regular and promotional prices, Price validity periods, Currency and price units, Tax codes, descriptions and rates, Store and site assignments, Item attributes and classifications.
Analyse WP_PLU IDoc structures used for transferring article and PLU information from SAP to POS.
Interpret relevant WP_PLU segments, including: E2WPA01 for principal article and PLU information, E2WPA02 for site or article-related control information, E2WPA03 for item descriptions, E2WPA04 for pricing condition information, E2WPA05 for price values, units and currencies, E2WPA07 for tax-related item information, E2WXX01 or similar extension segments for additional item attributes.
Analyse WPDTAX IDoc structures used for transferring tax codes and tax rates to POS systems.
Interpret relevant WPDTAX segments, including: E2WPT01 for tax-code header and validity information, E2WPT02 for tax description, classification and rate information.
Analyse standard and custom IDoc basic types, including examples such as: WP_PLU02, ZSDWPDTAX02, Other standard or customer-specific retail IDocs.
Understand the EDI_DC40 control record, including sender, receiver, message type, basic type, creation date and IDoc number.
Identify field start positions, lengths, data types and formatting requirements in fixed-width SAP output files.
Determine mandatory, optional and repeating segments.
Document segment hierarchy, cardinality and dependencies.
Trace IDoc fields to the corresponding SAP tables, structures, configuration and business processes.
Define transformation rules for: Leading-zero removal or padding, Date and time conversion, Decimal and implied-decimal handling, Currency conversion and representation, Units-of-measure conversion, SAP-to-POS code conversion, Language-specific descriptions, Default values, Conditional field population, Multiple price and tax records.
Map SAP pricing conditions to POS price types, including regular price, promotional price, markdown and other applicable retail price categories.
Map SAP tax codes and rates to the corresponding POS tax groups, tax authorities, tax locations and tax rules.
Analyse generic attribute segments and determine the business meaning of keys such as brand, season, category, cost, article type, tariff code and custom status.
Identify gaps where target-system data is unavailable in the standard SAP IDoc.
Recommend appropriate solutions, including: Standard segment usage, IDoc extensions, Custom Z-segments, ABAP extraction enhancements, Middleware transformation or enrichment, Target-system derivation.
Work closely with SAP functional, ABAP, middleware, Oracle Xstore and business teams.

Requirements

Experienced SAP Retail Functional and Data Mapping Consultant.
Strong knowledge of SAP ECC retail processes.
Strong knowledge of POS outbound interfaces.
Hands-on experience working with retail article, price, hierarchy, tax, store and related foundation data.
Experience analysing WP_PLU, WPDTAX and similar SAP POS outbound interfaces is highly desirable.
