We are seeking a Senior VB.NET Developer, an individual contributor role, to independently design, build, and deliver end-to-end features. The ideal candidate is technically solid, comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, and possesses an ownership mindset requiring minimal supervision. This role involves driving features from requirement understanding through to deployment and support.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver end-to-end application features using VB.NET and .NET Framework/.NET
- Work directly with business users and product stakeholders to understand requirements and propose technical solutions
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, estimates, and implementation plans
- Design, develop, test, and maintain VB.NET applications (desktop/web/services as applicable)
- Perform code reviews, refactoring, and performance tuning to ensure quality and maintainability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Support, Infra, DB) to ensure smooth releases
- Debug production issues and provide root-cause analysis and permanent fixes
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to coding and security standards
- Act as a go-to individual contributor for complex problem solving and feature ownership
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with VB.NET and .NET Framework / .NET
- Solid experience with SQL Server, including queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
- Experience with ASP.NET / Windows Services / Desktop applications (based on project needs)
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design principles
- Experience working in enterprise applications with production support exposure
- Ability to independently drive work with minimal guidance
- Proven ability to interact directly with business stakeholders
- Strong requirement-gathering, analysis, and clarification skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple business-friendly language
- Comfortable challenging requirements and suggesting better technical approaches
- Strong individual contributor mindset (not a people-manager role)
- Ownership, accountability, and bias for action
- Ability to handle ambiguity and drive clarity
- Quality-focused, pragmatic, and business-oriented developer
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with modernization or legacy system enhancement
- Exposure to C#, Web APIs, REST services, or system integrations
- Familiarity with Agile / DevOps ways of working
- Experience working in manufacturing / enterprise IT environments
