Seeking an experienced Snowflake & SQL DBA with 5-8 years in database administration, performance tuning, data warehousing, and cloud management. Responsibilities include administering, monitoring, securing, and optimizing Snowflake and SQL Server environments to ensure high availability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer Snowflake Data Cloud environments, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Implement data sharing, cloning, replication, and failover strategies in Snowflake.
  • Manage Snowflake user access, RBAC, and data security controls, performing cost optimization.
  • Support data loading and integration processes using ETL/ELT tools in Snowflake.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Monitor SQL Server database health, performance, availability, and perform capacity planning.
  • Conduct query optimization and database troubleshooting for SQL Server.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in database administration.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake architecture and administration.
  • Experience with Snowflake security, RBAC, masking policies, and data governance.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Time Travel, Fail-safe, Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables.
  • Experience monitoring and optimizing Snowflake workloads and understanding cost management.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server Administration.
  • Expertise in SQL query tuning and database performance optimization.
  • Experience with backup/recovery, HA/DR, Clustering, and Always On for SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge of database monitoring and troubleshooting for SQL Server.
  • Experience with Azure platforms.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with data migration from on-premises databases to cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of data integration tools such as Informatica, Matillion, ADF, SSIS, or similar tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting 24x7 production environments.
  • Exposure to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
