We are looking for a seasoned SAP PLM Solution Architect / Principal Consultant with over 20 years of experience in transforming product lifecycle, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain processes in discrete industries. This role involves deep expertise in areas like NSR, ETO, CTO, configuration management, NPI, BOM governance, Engineering Change Management, Variant Configuration, and PLM-to-SAP integration.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise SAP PLM strategy, solution architecture, roadmaps, and design governance.
Design and optimize product development, NPI, product release, engineering records, document management, and product governance processes.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose SAP and PLM solution designs.
Architect NSR processes covering customer requirement capture, technical evaluation, quotation support, approvals, engineering collaboration, manufacturing readiness, and delivery.
Establish traceability from customer requirement and quotation through sales order, configuration, engineering, planning, manufacturing, and service.
Define controlled trigger, revision, reprocessing, and freeze-point mechanisms for frequently changing customer requirements.
Lead integrated ETO, CTO, Make-to-Order, and project-based manufacturing process design.
Connect Engineering with demand planning, procurement, production planning, manufacturing execution, quality, logistics, and service.
Design scalable operating models for complex, configurable, and customer-specific products.
Govern characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, configurable materials, object dependencies, constraints, selection conditions, procedures, and variant tables.
Lead SAP Variant Configuration and Advanced Variant Configuration solution design across quotation, sales order, planning, manufacturing, and service processes.
Ensure configuration consistency, validation, effectivity, and end-to-end traceability.
Define governance for EBOM, MBOM, configurable BOM, sales-order BOM, production BOM, and service BOM structures.
Design Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Order processes, including impact analysis, approval, effectivity, release, auditability, and downstream synchronization.
Improve BOM accuracy, ownership, reconciliation, and change control across PLM and SAP.
Define integrations between SAP and enterprise PLM platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE, or Aras Innovator.
Lead interface design for material master, classification, characteristics, documents, BOMs, engineering changes, configuration data, object dependencies, and status or lifecycle events.
Guide selection and governance of integration patterns using REST APIs, OData, RFC/BAPI, IDoc, file-based exchange, middleware, and SAP BTP Integration Suite.
Assess existing ECC PLM and NSR custom solutions and define transition paths to S/4HANA.
Promote simplification, standardization, clean-core principles, and appropriate use of side-by-side extensions.
Define future-state architecture leveraging relevant SAP capabilities such as DMS, Engineering Change Management, AVC, MDG, BTP, and Integration Suite.

Requirements

20+ years of experience leading product lifecycle, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain transformation in discrete industries.
Deep expertise in Non-Standard Requirements (NSR), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Configure-to-Order (CTO), configuration management, New Product Introduction (NPI), BOM governance, Engineering Change Management, Variant Configuration, Object Dependencies.
Expertise in integration between enterprise PLM platforms and SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.
Experience with SAP PLM strategy, solution architecture, roadmaps, and design governance.
Experience designing and optimizing product development, NPI, product release, engineering records, document management, and product governance processes.
Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops and translating business requirements into fit-for-purpose SAP and PLM solution designs.
Experience architecting NSR processes covering customer requirement capture, technical evaluation, quotation support, approvals, engineering collaboration, manufacturing readiness, and delivery.
Experience establishing traceability from customer requirement and quotation through sales order, configuration, engineering, planning, manufacturing, and service.
Experience defining controlled trigger, revision, reprocessing, and freeze-point mechanisms for frequently changing customer requirements.
Experience leading integrated ETO, CTO, Make-to-Order, and project-based manufacturing process design.

Nice-to-Have Certifications: Relevant SAP functional or technical certification in SAP S/4HANA, PLM, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Variant Configuration / AVC, Integration.
