The Senior People & Culture Partner will provide HR guidance and expertise within the Byhalia operation, supporting business objectives by offering strategic HR insight. This role focuses on talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, acting as a change agent and advisor to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement human resources initiatives in talent acquisition, employee development, and performance management.
- Partner with business and operational leaders to understand challenges and develop support strategies.
- Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement and accountability.
- Advise and coach people leaders and P&C partners on workforce-related issues.
- Coach managers on performance management, compensation, and career development dialogues.
- Develop cross-functional initiatives to bolster retention and increase employee engagement.
- Lead the Compensation Review process and be an expert on Volvo compensation philosophy.
- Lead People Growth and Succession Planning processes.
- Champion Volvo culture and ensure alignment with Volvo Group values and principles.
- Partner with central P&C functions.
- Undertake special initiatives, projects, and assignments.
- Lead and act according to Volvo values.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in distribution/manufacturing.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Thorough knowledge of US employment and labor law, and HR professional practices.
- Strong Generalist/Functional HR knowledge across compensation, recruiting, employee relations, mobility, and talent management.
- Solid business acumen (financial/operational business drivers).
- Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and support conflict resolution.
- Ability to coach managers and employees on employment and management issues.
- Ability to work independently with high collaboration.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operational leadership.
- Ability to lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Analytical skills and interest in using data for insights.
- HRIS knowledge, preferably SAP and a cloud-based solution.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office 365).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
- Human Resources professional certification highly preferred.
- People leadership experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, set demanding targets, and motivate teams and individuals.
