Nordea is seeking a Senior Financial Controller in Stockholm, Sweden, for a full-time, permanent position. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for financial reporting, bookkeeping, and tax compliance for Swedish legal entities within Nordea Group, ensuring adherence to IFRS and Swedish accounting legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for bookkeeping, financial close and statutory financial reporting for several Swedish legal entities
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and Swedish accounting legislation (ÅRL/K3)
  • Coordinate and prepare annual reports for Swedish entities
  • Drive continuous improvements in close and reporting processes
  • Maintain strong governance structures and internal controls
  • Responsible for tax calculation and reporting for Swedish entities
  • Contribute financial and accounting expertise within corporate tax and transfer pricing‑related matters
  • Provide financial insights and analyses to CFO and senior management
  • Act as the main point of contact towards external and internal auditors

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in financial controlling, accounting and statutory reporting
  • Solid understanding of Swedish accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Proven experience managing year‑end close, annual reports and audit processes
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or similar
  • A structured, independent and proactive way of working
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience from the banking sector or another regulated financial services environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience with SAP/SAP4Hana is an advantage
