Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and automation control cabinets for machine applications.
- Create electrical schematics, cabinet layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with mechanical, process, and software engineers.
- Develop and maintain product documentation in PDM systems.
- Select and dimension components like PLC, HMI, power supplies, and safety components.
- Ensure electrical solutions meet applicable standards and regulations for EU installations.
- Perform safety calculations using SISTEMA for functional safety.
- Conduct EMC analysis and design, addressing challenges from the early design phase.
- Estimate design hours and coordinate electrical design activities.
- Participate in design reviews and quality assurance.
- Support start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate across sites and contribute to product development.
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Extensive experience designing electrical systems for industrial automation cabinets.
- Advanced experience with EPLAN P8 or a similar electrical design tool.
- Knowledge of SISTEMA for safety calculations and functional safety standards.
- Solid understanding of EMC principles and practical experience with EMC testing and mitigation.
- Experience with heat calculations and thermal management for electrical cabinets.
- Strong knowledge of EN 60204-1, CE-marking of machines, and electrical safety requirements.
- Experience with CE-marking process for machinery and related standards.
- Practical hands-on experience from commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with marine approvals, verification, and related documentation is advantageous.
- Experience with project management is advantageous.
- Interest in specific fields like safety design, CE-marking, or CAD expertise.
