Responsibilities
- Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies for improved supply chain performance, product quality, innovation, and value.
- Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers.
- Contribute to segment business plans and collaborate within a global network of Buyers.
- Utilize Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox for supply chain efficiency.
- Manage product/process changes during production and post-production phases.
- Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows.
- Monitor and analyze supplier capacity to prevent plant impacts and part shortages.
Requirements
- 6+ years of strategic purchasing experience (supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiations, contracts) or equivalent internal experience.
- Experience in the heavy manufacturing industry.
- Proven negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen and agile working style.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent working experience).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
