Synopsys is hiring a Sr. R&D Engineer to contribute to the development of LS-DYNA and related software products. Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
- Employ best practices in software development.
- Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support.
- Research and resolve issues found by QA or product support.
- Understand marketing requirements, including target environments, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of professional experience, or Master's Degree in Aerospace, Biomechanical, Mechanical Engineering, or other natural science discipline.
- Working experience with technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects.
- Good understanding and skills in programming.
- Must be located (or able to relocate) to Livermore, CA onsite at our Ansys office (hybrid working schedule is allowed).
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree or PhD Preferred.
- Technical knowledge and experience with finite element simulation (e.g. LS-DYNA, Ansys), and CAD modeling.
- Background in computational solid mechanics, numerical methods, and preferably on high-performance computing on C/GPUs.
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, electromagnetics, computational geometry, or computer graphics is an advantage.
- Experience with Fortran or C.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
