The Quality Technician performs and documents inspection and test activities for Brazed Heat Exchangers (BHE) at various manufacturing stages, ensuring compliance with quality requirements. Responsibilities include receiving inspections, in-process checks, final inspections, and quality assurance documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document general to specific inspection and test activities of product at various stages in the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct receipt inspection of incoming material and vendor fabricated components.
  • Review Material Test Reports.
  • Perform material identification and marking.
  • Document receipt inspection.
  • Conduct in-process inspection, including material verification, weld joint preparation and fit-up inspection, and assembly dimensional verifications.
  • Perform grid assembly inspection and finish QC tester verification.
  • Verify product compliance with ASME Section VIII specifications.
  • Conduct final inspection of product prior to shipping.
  • Audit shipping documentation.
  • Document and verify correction of nonconforming conditions.
  • Document inspection and testing activities in accordance with established procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' QC inspection experience in an ASME manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' QC inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Formal training, experience, or certification in welding or weld inspection preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to perform simple algebraic, geometric and trigonometric calculations.
  • Demonstrates strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform inspection, testing and documentation activities for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Computer knowledge skills appropriate for position include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Desired Qualifications

  • ASME qualification preferred.
  • Comparable level of education and experience in a related technical field (subject to QA management review).
